Asher should be a super model!  It was so fun to see him come in for a baby portrait session.  He has grown into quite the looker.  The combination of his porcelain smooth skin and crystal blue eyes scream GAP baby adds to me!  But then all the babies that come to see me at the studio are gorgeous.  Maybe I should start an agency and placing these cute little people with advertisers so that by the time they are 5 they have a college fund taken care of, lol!  Little Asher I will not be surprised to see your little face famous somewhere one day;-)

Little Gentleman

Baby photographer Seattle Tacoma Gig Harbor G Little Gentleman
So this might sound really cheesy…

I have been reading a book about influential people through out the span of time.  Last night I was reading about Mencius, a sage of China.

“The Chinese had an inventory of virtues.  These included, among others, courage, propriety, courtesy and respect, doing one’s best, righteousness, honest speaking, public service, and the cultivation of one’s mind through literary and artistic pursuits.  One who had achieved these qualities was called, in the closest English translation, a “gentleman”.  Nobility had nothing to do with birth; it was acquired through education and unselfish service.  Nobility was all a matter of character,” -S. Michael Wilcox.

I love this idea.  I think when you are a mother of a son raising your boy to be a “gentleman” in every since of the Chinese notion is at the forefront of your mind.  Little Garrett here definitely looks the part, I know his mom will teach him to act the part.  There is no greater success.

I am so lucky to be Bryce’s baby photographer.  He is a photographer’s dream.  Full of smiles and little laughs : -)  The year has passed so quickly, I can’t believe how the time has flown since I was taking his newborn portraits!  I have kept in touch with his Mom through facebook for this last year; enjoying the pictures she posts and the updates on the milestones that he reaches.  He has such a beautiful smile I was so excited to have him come visit me in the studio again.  I love birthday sessions.  They are so much fun, a wonderful way to celebrate such a busy year of learning and growing.  Just for kicks, here is little Bryce at just a few days old!

Good People and Sweet Babies

Last year I met and learned with one of my favorite photographers Jamie Schultz.

While there I photographer this sweet little girl and met her very cool and talented mother.

Once I returned home I met her sister MJ and this little girl’s Aunt.

I have worked closely with MJ over the last year as she has helped me design some graphic design pieces for my business.  And last week…

I got to photograph her precious daughter Morgan.

I am a true believer that when you surround yourself with good people, you meet more good people and they help you to be a good person.  This chain is one that represents the power of womanhood.  We care, we reach out, we take care of each other.

I am so excited for MJ and her family.  They have another beautiful daughter to bring their family happiness and joy.  I am so grateful that I have had a link in this chain.

And The Award Goes To….

Baby photographer Seattle Tacoma Gig Harbor K And The Award Goes To....
Knox!  For his full belly, totally contagious, make you double over….laughs!  When Knox came in for his baby photography session he was a little timid at first.  I don’t know what changed, but after a little bit he was laughing to his hearts content.  I have never heard a baby laugh like Knox.  If there were baby Oscars and “laughing” was an award to be had, Knox would win hands down.  Such BIG laughs for a little fellow.  He had me laughing along with him.  I told his Mom that it would be hard to avoid the temptation not to totally exhaust him by making him laugh all day long.  The sound was just that enjoyable.  It has a magical ring.  So on that note please enjoy my favorite little quote about laughter:-)

“When the first baby laughed for the first time,

it’s laugh broke into a thousand pieces,

and they all went skipping about,

and that was the begining of Fairies.”

-J.M. Barrie
