Shout Hooray!

Baby Photographer Seattle Tacoma Puyallup Shout Hooray!
Rayna just came to see me for her Birthday photography session.  She got to have her cake and eat it too!  This little lady was full of sweetness.  She is perfect from her perfect piggly, wiggly toes all the way to her kind, thoughtful eyes.  Spending an hour with her in the studio it is easy to tell that she brings her parents so much joy.  I am so excited for her to embark on another year for exciting adventure and learning!  Happy Birthday sweet Rayna Jo!

Simple Joys

Newborn Photographer Seattle Tacoma Puyallup Zachary 1 1024x847 Simple Joys
While I think that “simple” is a bit of an understatement, I really agree with Laura Ingalls Wilder.  I think the trend towards newborn photography shows that we as women are coming back to the realization that true happiness is found in our children and in motherhood.  As a photographer I get to see mothers in the midst of the happiest moments of their lives.  It is a “sweet and simple” truth.  Families are the bottomless well of joy!  It was such a pleasure to have the Morris family back in the studio to have me photograph the newest addition to their growing family.  It seems like just yesterday I was taking portraits of little Ava.  And now she has a brother!  I am so excited for Zachary.  He is lucky to be the newest member of one of the coolest families I know;-)

Newborn photographer Seattle Tacoma Puyallup Cherub

Cherub with the chubby cheeks,

fragile and tiny in your Father’s hands,

do you dream of pirate ships

or magic carpets from distant lands?

Cherub with your big, bright eyes

safe and secure in your Dad’s embrace,

can you see the depth of love

written on your Father’s face?

Cherub with he kissy lips,

everyday you’ll learn and grow,

with each hug and tender kiss

your parent’s love you’ll come to know.

Welcome to the world baby Nolan;-)

Newborn Photography Seattle Tacoma Gig Harbor Twins Sweetness
Being a newborn photographer has its challenges.  One of the hardest of these for me is photographing twins.  I can only imagine carrying twins, delivering twins, and raising twins.  Just thinking about it makes me tired!  You know that cliche’ don’t bite off more than you can chew….well…let’s just say I always worry how in the world I am going to capture darling images of TWO babies!!!  One thing that makes it possible is having amazing clients who are patient and helpful and a pleasure to spend your morning with;-)  Another thing that helps is having darling, picture perfect babies to photograph.  You can’t go wrong with a precious subject right?  And then in full disclosure I have to admit that I pray for a miracle   Please make both of these darling babies sleepy at the same time, lol!  It did take some hard work and a very patient Mom and Dad, but miracles can happen and though their “twin sleep” was fleeting…it did happen.  And they are the most perfect little brother and sister ever!  Don’t you want to ooh and aww?

You know that as a photographer you have done a great capture when the viewers heart melts, and your hands ich to hold them.

Baby Prodigy

Newborn Photographer Seattle Tacoma Puyallup Koa 1 Baby Prodigy
Being a baby photographer is a lot of fun.  Each little person is so unique.  Photographing Koa was no easy task.  This little man is all boy!  He was such a busy little guy, and always on the move.  I literally had seconds to get good shots in between his mom diligently sitting him back down over and over again.  Koa really surprised me with his level of communication.  I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised since both of his parents are teachers, lol!  He has so many beginning sounds down.  But even more impressive was his extensive use of baby signs.  I wish I had known how to teach baby signs to my children when they were little.  Some many frustrations with being a parent of a toddler stem from poor communication.  I love that parents can learn how to teach their little ones ways to communicate while they are waiting on the acquisition of speech.  Koa was using so many signs during his session.  It was really a neat thing to see.

If you want to learn more about baby signing, I am sure there are lots of great resources.  I did a quick little search on line and found this site. It looked like a good place to start;-)
