I got to meet little Brooklyn last week when her parents came to see me at my newborn photography studio.  I immediately noticed her little bracelet.  It wasn’t until later on in the session while photographing her mother that I noticed that the same bracelet was being worn around her wrist.  So I had to ask what the significance was.  As a simple and beautiful act of love Brooklyn’s father made them for his “girls”.  What a beautiful gesture.  It is romantic, tender, 100 % perfect.  I am so happy that when Brooklyn looks back at these portraits of her as a newborn she will see that bracelet.  Hopefully she will still have it.  She will know that her father loved her, was devoted to her and that from the minute she was born he was happy to call her his!

Baby Photographer Seattle Tacoma Puyallup Shout Hooray!
Rayna just came to see me for her Birthday photography session.  She got to have her cake and eat it too!  This little lady was full of sweetness.  She is perfect from her perfect piggly, wiggly toes all the way to her kind, thoughtful eyes.  Spending an hour with her in the studio it is easy to tell that she brings her parents so much joy.  I am so excited for her to embark on another year for exciting adventure and learning!  Happy Birthday sweet Rayna Jo!

Simple Joys

While I think that “simple” is a bit of an understatement, I really agree with Laura Ingalls Wilder.  I think the trend towards newborn photography shows that we as women are coming back to the realization that true happiness is found in our children and in motherhood.  As a photographer I get to see mothers in the midst of the happiest moments of their lives.  It is a “sweet and simple” truth.  Families are the bottomless well of joy!  It was such a pleasure to have the Morris family back in the studio to have me photograph the newest addition to their growing family.  It seems like just yesterday I was taking portraits of little Ava.  And now she has a brother!  I am so excited for Zachary.  He is lucky to be the newest member of one of the coolest families I know;-)

Cherub

Cherub with the chubby cheeks,

fragile and tiny in your Father’s hands,

do you dream of pirate ships

or magic carpets from distant lands?

Cherub with your big, bright eyes

safe and secure in your Dad’s embrace,

can you see the depth of love

written on your Father’s face?

Cherub with he kissy lips,
