Gig Harbor Newborn Photography, Breath Him In

Beau’s parents came to me for their newborn photography session from Gig Harbor.  They were in the middle of a week that they will never, ever forget.  Having their first baby and buying their first home.  What a whirlwind of awesome!  I am so excited for them and for all the wonderful changes happening in their lives right now.  And the miracle of it all was that despite the stress and fatigue that most certainly goes hand and hand with both of the life events they are in the middle of, they were so at ease.  I love that they were able to put the world aside and all the things they have going on in their busy lives to come see me and enjoy in celebrating the birth of their son.  I wish all first time parents had that kind of peace of mind.  It is a hard task to choose to put things on the back burner for a while.  I remember having my second baby and having way to much going on.  We were moving to another state when she was two weeks old, I needed to find a job to help support our family, my husband was just starting grad school; it was all too much.  I let life swallow me whole.  And when I look back at my daughter’s first year there is very little I remember.  Certainly not the things I wanted to.  I hardly treasured a moment.  Living life a day at a time and the struggle took its toll.  I wish I could go back and smell her in.  I wish I had sat on the coach to cuddle her more.  I wish I had more pictures.  Don’t let “life” steal from you the true treasures!  Only “live in the moment” if that moment is filled with the ones you love!  Forget about Carpe Diem…
