Heart To Heart {Newborn Photography Seattle Tacoma Puyallup}

I love this pose.  When you come to my studio for a newborn photography session I have two goals.  One, to capture your newborn fresh and innocent with breathtaking portraits to treasure for years to come.  Two, to celebrate the new bond of baby and all of the people that love him.  This is one of my favorite poses with Mom.  Having had four children of my own, I can without a moment of hesitation, say that this was my favorite way to hold and cuddle my newborns.  Maybe it’s because it is not so different from the way I carried them for nine months.  Maybe it is just because a babies curves blend so natural with a woman’s curves.  But the way I think about it during my sessions now is that it is a heart to heart pose.  Baby’s heart pressed closely to moms.  And with his little ear so close by maybe he can still hear it beating, like only days before when he was warm and cozy in the womb.  Heart to heart I would sit with my little ones all cozied into this spot and smell their fresh little newborn smell.  It was intoxicating.  Like a drug that a mother just can’t get enough of.  It makes me teary just remembering how perfect and simple those moments were.  I feel so blessed to be able to give mothers a way to remember, through art, those tender feelings.  How I wish, with all my heart that I could go back and pose in front of a camera holding my precious babies so that I could have a portrait like this.

You’ll Be In My Heart

Come stop your crying
It will be all right
Just take my hand Hold it tight

I will protect you
from all around you
I will be here
Don’t you cry

For one so small,
you seem so strong
My arms will hold you,
keep you safe and warm
This bond between us
Can’t be broken
I will be here
Don’t you cry

‘Cause you’ll be in my heart
Yes, you’ll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
