Newborn Baby Mason l Puyallup Photographer

As a newborn photographer every baby I photograph is remarkable.  However, this portrait session was a special treat.  I flew out to the San Fransisco Bay area yesterday for a whirlwind visit with my newest nephew Mason!  It is the first time I have been able to photograph a baby for my own family.  Mason seemed so tiny.  I must have had some big babies lately because he just seemed so small and vulnerable!

Some babies really don’t like to be naked. Mason was one of them.  I really missed my studio.  I have everything set up perfectly at the studio to meet the comfort needs of my tiny subjects.  Being in a big home was a whole new ballgame.  I missed so many of my props too.  Location photography is definitely harder than studio photography.  And from my personal experience, at least when a newborn baby is concerned, a studio is better hands down.  Mason was also the oldest baby I have photographed.  He was still within his second week of life, but already he didn’t sleep as deeply as my babies usually do when in their first week.

So Mason made me really work for these lovely portraits.  I came home happy with the images I captured.  But the real reward for all of that work was being with family and holding for almost 6 hours straight our newest member!
