I was so excited to have the opportunity to be Olivia’s baby photographer last week.  She is such a doll.  Years ago while looking online for Christmas card ideas for my family I stumbled across a portrait like this from a photographer.  I didn’t even have becoming a newborn photographer in my sites.  When Olivia’s Mom contacted me about some Christmas portraits of her little girl I knew I had to recreate this amazing set I had seen so many years earlier.  (so no credit for the brilliant idea…that goes to Buttons and Bows Photography).

One of the reasons I love this set is that it conveys an idea that is dear to me.  Our children are our gifts.  They are the best parts of us.  They are our hopes, our dreams, the reason for enduring.  When I look at the greatest blessings in my life the top four are my precious children and I am sure Olivia’s mom feels the same way.  There isn’t anything more valuable in this world than a child that loves you.  Sophocles wrote that children are what anchor a mother to life.  That is SO TRUE.  Each child is a little piece of their parents.  Being a mother is such a significant job.  We create people!!!  And then we mold them into wonderful individuals.  A great man once said that no success can compensate for failure in the home.  I know that is true.  I know that in this busy world there is nothing more important than nurturing and raising these beautiful gifts that we have been given.  I hope that every time Olivia’s Mom looks into her big curious eyes she will know that she is about the most important work; raising a daughter.

Olivia you are a cherished gift., a piece of your mother and part of your father.  A little piece of perfection here to bless those around you!
